About this project
How can you have a nomadic profession and at the same time a family life?

This is a project born in the frame of the Linköping University in Sweden. In a group of five persons, we were assigned to work with unemployed people at the municipality, at the same time, individually I had have a project with a nomadic perspective, and this web/blog project was born.

The highlight is the nomadic professions whether if it is compatible to have a family life or not. I include in the storytelling the specific topic of how is the work conditions for a nomadic situation and if needed any type of welfare. All the stories that you can read in this blog are true, and I have interviewed everyone. One of the stories is a "bonus", because I did not interview him but I read the story and I think it was important to be included in this diversity of alternatives for how to solve the employment and how set the goals in life. The bonus is a fact that was published in the book "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" by Kamkwamba.
I modify the name of the people in order to preserve his/her identity. Every story have a map journey where you can look at the places where the person have been and the duration of the travel included if travelled with kids.
The colours and style of the map is imprecise in order to preserve the persons identity so you can not be able to track them instead you can follow the truly journey. Thus, some of those stories have a draw or a picture that illustrate some distinguish moments of the particularity of the journey. Any of the stories is the same, everybody I interviewed have had a different path to be employeed and to decided to have or not a family. I hope you can enjoy it and be inspired in order to see your own path in life.

I'm a woman born in the late 70's somewhere in America. My father and my mother raised me as a free thinker, so without knowing it, I became Nomad more than I can admit. Anyway, now I'm still living in the same place for the last 3 years, therefore, maybe I became sedentary. Anyway, I studied film but I ended up making the VFX of the movies. I'm married and have 2 children. Now I study again, in the search for new challenges, always enjoying life.
